Program Overview
The Bachelor of Engineering in Information Systems and Cybersecurity (ISCE) is an international program designed to meet the global demand for engineers capable of designing, securing, and managing complex digital infrastructures.
By integrating Information Systems and Cybersecurity Engineering, the program equips students to navigate the evolving landscape of digital transformation and cyber threats. The curriculum is developed in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science, the Faculty of Law, and ITSC to ensure a strong foundation in computing, legal compliance, and practical operations.
To ensure graduates are fully prepared for the industry, ISCE works closely with leading partners and government agencies, including NCSA, Cisco, AWS, Fortinet, and OffSec. Taught entirely in English, the program empowers students to work confidently and effectively in the global workforce.
What You Will Learn
The program balances theoretical foundations and practical application. During Years 1 and 2, all students take a shared engineering curriculum to build essential technical competencies: Computer Networks, Database Systems, Operating Systems, Programming, and Fundamental Information Security. Every student, regardless of their future specialization, gains the critical skills to design secure and efficient systems.
Starting in Year 3, students specialize in one of two engineering tracks.
| Track | Focus | Courses include |
|---|---|---|
| Information Systems Engineering | Architecture, development, and management of complex software solutions | Cloud Computing Systems, Advanced Software Engineering, Enterprise Systems, Database Management, AI/ML Integration, IT Project Management |
| Cybersecurity Engineering | Offensive and defensive security strategies, infrastructure protection, and digital compliance | Ethical Hacking, Cloud Security, Penetration Testing, Digital Forensics, Defensive Security Operations, Cyber Law, Policy and Standards |
Career Paths
| Information Systems Engineering | Network Engineer, Software Engineer, Data Systems Engineer, Information System Administrator, IT Manager |
|---|---|
| Cybersecurity Engineering | Cybersecurity Engineer, Penetration Tester, Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), Security Analyst, Auditor |
Why Study ISCE with Us?
| Multidisciplinary collaboration | A collaboration between Computer Science, the Faculty of Law, and ITSC for comprehensive expertise in technology, law, and IT infrastructure |
|---|---|
| Industry-driven | Curriculum shaped by input from NCSA, Cisco, Fortinet, MFEC, OffSec, and more |
| Theory-practice balance | Rigorous academic theory integrated with real-world application |
| Global tech environment | A fully English program in a diverse environment that mirrors the global tech workplace, preparing students for an international career |
Differences between ISCE and CPE
While Computer Engineering focuses heavily on computer hardware, architecture, and the integration of hardware and software systems, ISCE emphasizes the application layer, infrastructure, and security.
ISCE is designed for students who want to master Information Systems (software, data, cloud, computer networks) and Cybersecurity (defense, offense, forensics) without going deep into hardware circuit design. The program also integrates soft skills and management knowledge, preparing students to work effectively in international and corporate environments immediately after graduation.
